On Saturday 21st February two of our Sussex juniors, Morgan Pry and Callum Slade, attended the EPA's National Junior Squad Day at Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire.
It was great to see two of our up and coming young stars eager to improve and develop their game and being well supported by their parents in doing so.
It was a long day for all involved but was well worth the effort judging by the feedback from the boys . . . well done to both of you !

I enjoyed going to the training day thoroughly, even if it was an early start.
Throughout the day we learnt new and interesting training tasks to do, which over the course of the day improved our game ten fold. It was also a good experience to see the other juniors that Callum and I had seen at Hayling Island.
I can't wait to go to the next training day; it was a brilliant day and a great success.

The training squad day I felt was a great success, even though I had to get up at 4.30am.
I got to see some of the juniors that I have seen before from other regions. The coaches that were teaching us for the day really helped us in all areas of the game of petanque and if they saw that we were doing something wrong they would work with us until it was correct. I especially felt my shooting improved massively even managed to spot carreau a middle ball in a circle of 9 balls that was set up for shooting practice. With this training I feel that we will be a stronger team of juniors and I will be able to back Morgan up more so he will not be the only shooter in our team.
I am looking forward to the next coaching squad event as it is going to be over a whole weekend with a coach from Germany.
