Unfortunately play was abandoned on the Sunday due to appalling weather caused by the tail end of hurricane Bertha sweeping across the UK. However, by that time England were already well ahead and were once again declared Home Nations Champions. The final result was England 43 wins, Wales 29 wins, Scotland 24 wins
The 15th Home Nations Championship takes place this weekend (9th/10th August) at Mansfield PC. Each of the eight teams representing England, Scotland and Wales play twelve games over two days to decide the who can claim to be the Home Nations Champions for 2014.
After a tough qualifying event earlier in the year, the team made up of Sussex Petanque Association members (Tony Mann, Gareth Jarvis and Jeff Mitchell) managed to secure a place in the top eight teams and are therefore proudly representing their country this weekend. Good Luck to them and the rest of the England squad.
