On a gloriously sunny Sunday 19th July Sussex Pétanque held its 2015 Triples Championships at the Goldsmiths Pétanque Club in Crowborough.
7 teams turned out for this competition with teams from Brighton, Crowborough & Hastings. There was a league of 4 and a league of 3 for the morning games with the top two teams in each league going through to a Main Semi-Final and the remaining 3 teams playing in the Plate.
The Plate winners were the Pry family Morgan, Sylvie & Martin.
The 2015 Sussex Triples Champions are David Alfred, Stephan Alfred & Gareth Jarvis who won 13 - 10 to defeat the runners-up Herbie Edwards, Jeff Mitchell and Tony Mann in perhaps the longest ever Sussex Petanque final.
Both the Champions and Runner-up teams will be invited to represent our Region at the EPA Champion of Champions taking place on 11th October at Oxshott PC in Surrey.

The 2015 Sussex Shooting Championships were also completed at the Sussex Triples Championships.
10 players had taken part at the 2015 Sussex Doubles Championships where the early leader was Andy Croft from Crowborough Social Club (20 points) and in 2nd place Herbie Mitchell, Goldsmiths PC (16 points). A further 11 players entered today but out of the first 10 today no one had beaten Andy or Jeff’s score. Tony Mann was the last player to take part and with his penultimate shot at the jack scored 5 points to score a total of 21 points and narrowly beat Andy to become the Sussex Shooting Champion for the 2nd year running.
